Yeah Yeah, you guys are lucky. The guys down here don't understand how nice the Westminister Hobbytown is. They have a whole row of Crawler stuff not to mention the rock course and Tim C and Hootie and Micky. Maybe they should come up and crawl every once in a while, huh. The Hobbytown down here is into DandD, and model cars. So maybe this thread should be some Hobbytowns suck and some are cool:mrgreen:

Maybe it should be " The Colorado Springs Hobbytown sucks " .
I don't know how there are some guys that aren't getting that point!
YES, the Hobbytown in Westminster iis AWESOME! God, I wish the same guy that owned THAT store owned the one down here. BTW, there's actually two of them down here BUT the one up off of Woodmen and Academy sucks SO bad that it doesn't really even count as a Hobby shop.
Just in case some of you missed it, I did find a local hobby shop that will order parts for us IF you give him the part # ( you have to order ANYTHING dealing with rock crawling at Hobbytown as well ) and UNLIKE Hobbytown, he WILL price match. His name is Dan and he has a very small r/c airplane shop called Pikes Peak R/C Hobbies and he is a very nice guy. This is the second time I priced something through him and he has gotten very close to what I've found it on the net for both times. The Hobbytown here won't even try! They can keep their overpriced stuff because I am done with them!

Easy guys, sorry some of us non-Springs guys "intruded" on your thread. I was merely saying that we need to support our local hobby stores for the sake of the hobby. We all get the point that the HT sucks down there. A few folks simply pointed out that not all Hobbytowns are like that, it's not like we're "not getting the point". Maybe someone should open a hobby store down there?

Support your lhs, even if it sucks. When the shop closes because you guys didnt like ordering parts, the scene will shrink. We have already had 2 rc stores in the springs CLOSE. Support your lhs!

i understand that a hobby shop needs to amke a profit to be able to stay in business and I am willing to spend a little more at a LHS to support them BUT when a glow plug that Hobbytown is selling for nearly 14-15 bucks can be sold by Pikes Peak R/C Hobbies for 8 bucks that tells me that they are very overpriced! I have found a LHS that I will support even though it is a airplane shop.

I've known Dan @PPRC for a while now and he is a good guy. I also deal w/ Bill at Stevens Aero and I bet if we started ordering enough stuff from Bill he would probably stock a few things. Both of these guys pay me to work on their cars and support my buisness. That's who I want to deal w/. Everything I have Rc has come from Stevens Aero or PPRC so there is really no need for this thread. Truth is, we have a grip of LHS in the Springs, are they Crawler Stores, NOOP. But they are willing to help ya out. All of you guys should swing by Stevens, tell them your into Crawling and Sheldon sent ya by. Ask questions, explain that you would like to do buisness somewhere other then HT and you might be surprised. I have also heard that someone might be starting a new Crawler store. I truley believe it well fail miserbally. Hell, ther are like 5 RC Crawlers down here, thats not enough people to support a buisness. Hell, I can't even get some of you to come to the Palmer events so I kinda think alot of you guys are full of sh*t!!!!!!!!! You guys say you'll support a local LHS but as soon as you find a cheaper price you'll go there. So what I think you guys really want is for someone to Kiss your ass, give ya cheap parts, and a reach a round. Did ya every think maybe the reason Hobbytown West is so badass is because of all the people that go there and support it. Stop your Bitchin and pissin people off and make a difference. Denver has good sh*t because they have 50 fawkin people that crawl. I have never even seen any of you Springs Guys at a Denver event other then Joe and BigJoe.
One more thing, I'm trying like hell to bring this Hobby back to the Springs. Joe and I have been holding events and trying to bring a crowd down here. I have spent the last 6 months trying to build a rep for the Springs and I believe I've done a pretty good job. But when it looks like we are a bunch of pissers and moaners, that doesn't help. Please, think about what your saying and who your talking to. Truth is the Denver guys support the Springs events more then the Springs guys.

 Dan and I have been driving to Denver for 3+ yrs my friend:twisted:
The HT down here sucks we all know that, I go in to BS with Marty and by a few odds and ends. Most of the time everything that I need is ON BACKORDER.:lmao: I go to Pikes Peak for my servos, he has always offered to order stuff for me. He has great customer service. Never been to Stevens Aero, might have to stop in one day.
Just like Sheldon said, I don't think a crawler only store would survive. A hobby store that listened to its customers and stocked things for this area would do well. Both HT's sell all kinds of cars and kits, but none of them keep the parts in stock most of the time, not even the Traxxas parts. They order one package of that part, sell it as soon as it is on the shelf, now you wait at least a week for that part to appear again. That is why everyone is going to the internet, you can get it faster and cheaper than HT can. That applies to almost all Hobby stores now,I will always support my LHS, but I will not pay double the price for an item either.
FYI--- I was at Ace on Circle Saturday. They have redone the screw aisle and are stocking more 3mm screws8) Nothing over 25mm long but they do have a better selection now.
